Influence Maps

This influence maps depicts influences and references I have taken from televisions.
In 1,2,3,4,5,7,9 there are televisions that their shape influences me and I have used them as a reference for my sketches designs.

In 8 there is a television transformed into a monster. I intend for my animation to transform somehow my television into a devious creature.

In 6,10 there are images where they show the television interacting with the viewer. In 6 the TV is becoming a monster and in 10 is a picture from the movie "The Ring". I might use same motifs to my animation.

This influence map is for the props of my animation, for the sofa and for the TV stand.

1,2,3,4,5,6 are sofa pictures that has influenced me and I have used as reference in my sketches designs. I haven't decided if I will use a double or a single sofa for my animation.

In 7,8,9,10,11,12 there are pictures from TV stands that I have used in my designs - sketches and that they have influenced me.

This influence map is made up for a concept that will be in my animation. It may sound complicated and difficult but it will be very simple. From my television from some point there will be "animals" and insects going out. The animals I have chosen that will be going out are Pony's, butterflies and cockroaches. This concept will be elaborated and explained in my script.

1,2,3,4 are some butterflies pictures and designs that influence me and help me as a reference.
5,6,7 are some pony's pictures and designs that influence me and help me as a reference.
8,9,10,11,12,13,14 are some cockroaches pictures and designs that influence me and help me as a reference.

Pencil Drawings - Sketches

-I tried to be quicker with what I wanted to draw every time and draw what I want in a more sketchy way.

These are more pencil drawings:

*I have put some letters with numbers on each sketch so anyone can suggest me any of them.

Some Basics Drawings

These are some drawings I made in order to support my characters and my drawing skills for the animation.
Although these were the first first drawings and after some advice I was given I changed my methodology.

-The first picture depicts just random shapes and random things I did in order to practice my hand and introduce it into drawing.

In all drawings I was using reference pictures by watching them and trying to draw them. I didn't use any tracing and any similar method.

I was trying to draw things that my animation based on the storyboard and the script which I have in mind  (I will post soon my script) will have. Television , Sofa, Remote control and other props that my animation may have.

Devious - Television

My words for the animation is:  The "Devious" - "Television".  The adjective devious means something angry, sneaky, tricky, evasive, errant, crooked, indirect e.t.c.

My main character for my animation will be of course the television.  It's movement and it's behavior will be dodgy and tricky (devious).  I want to achieve to match the movement and the behavior of my object in my story with the adjective devious.

Influence can be taken from classic animations where the "bad" guy tries with devious and unwanted methods to achieve its goal.

"Sylvester and Tweety" directed by Friz Freleng for Warner Bros.

Sylvester and Tweety is a classic example of an animation where Sylvester the "devious" character does everything he can by all means to achieve his goal to eat Tweety.  Even the fact he doesn't achieve it we can see his movement and his actions represent deviousness. I wouldn't characterize the character of Sylvester absolutely devious because when someone is devious it means that he is kind of "smart" with his methods and actions by achieving his goals. Although resemblance and influence can be taken from his actions and from his bloopers to the adjective "devious".

"Roadrunner" directed by Friz Freleng for Warner Bros.

Another example of a character using devious methods and trying evil things in order to achieve his goal is in the cartoon of "Roadrunner" the Coyote. The Coyote tries to catch the Roadrunner. Again i wouldn't characterize Coyote pure devious because everything he tries doesn't result in nothing but still his methods are devious.

-These classic animations are a great example of defining my adjective and also defining the movement and the behavior of the characters that try to act "devious" and use "devious" and evil ways to achieve their goals.
